Social Development Manager at the VRCID, Wilma Piek spoke to BushRadio to give more insight into their Clean Needle Project. In the project, the VRCID partnered with the non-profit organisationTB HIV Care to carry out the project.
Drug users often share needles which spread HIV rapidly. The Clean Needle Project, also known as The Step Up Program, provides clean needles to drug users with clean needles to limit this spread. In addition to this, the project provides other types of medical assistance to prevent and treat HIV.
