The Gugulethu Crime Prevention Unit arrested five individuals on the morning of Wednesday, uncovering an illicit liquor manufacturing facility in the bustling neighbourhood of NY108, Cape {town} Etc reports.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found four males and one female inside the residence. A thorough search revealed a trove of evidence indicative of illegal production activities, including small containers, labels, sealed boxes filled with liquor bottles, and various pieces of equipment meant for manufacturing and packaging.
In a separate incident unrelated to the liquor bust, Voortrekker Road Corridor CID (VRCID) Public Safety Officers were alerted to a theft involving a Shoprite trolley filled with donated food items.
The trolley, which contained boxes of soup and bread rolls donated by Bradlows, had been left unattended outside the store as staff were busy offloading additional stock. Seizing the opportunity, a suspect made off with the trolley and its contents.
