VRCID aims to help
The Voortrekker Road Corridor Improvement District(VRCID) aims to keep the Parow area clean and safe and to create a sustainable enviroment, despite the social problems plaguing the area.
Open Streets back in Bellville
Open Streets will return to Bellville on Sunday 25 November. Between 09:00 and 14:00 on that day, a portion of Voortrekker Road will be closed to vehicles and open to people who can come and enjoy a car free space, by foot, bicycle,skateboard or any other form of non motorised transport.
City ‘sorry’ about road
The City of Cape Town has apologised to local residents because a section of Wynne Road has not yet been reinstated after a pipe burst. In September, a Parow Valley resident said serious interventions were needed after he reported burst pipes and potholes in the area.
Bellville’s best honoured
Volunteers and police officers who spend countless hours protecting Bellville’s neighbourhoods were honoured last week. VRCID was awarded the best CID of the year.

Talent on show at festival
Participants enjoyed a jam-packed weekend at the Tygerberg Heritage Festival. The annual festival is organised in conjunction with numerous local civic organisations including Bold Moves, Mould Empower Serve (MES), the Voortrekker Road Corridor Improvement District (VRCID) and the greater Tygerberg Partnershp (GTP).

VRCID cleaner returns to work after pension
Peter Mullins, a former Voortrekker Road Corridor Improvement District (VRCID) cleaner in the Parow area, has decided to leave “pensioning” to the pensioners and return to cleaning the streets.
