VRCID cleaner returns to work after pension
Peter Mullins, a former Voortrekker Road Corridor Improvement District (VRCID) cleaner in the Parow area, has decided to leave “pensioning” to the pensioners and return to cleaning the streets.
VRCID adapting to proactive approach
Voortrekker Road Corridor Improvement District VRCID chief operations officer, says although 67 cameras have been installed, the staff members are still learning. Bock says all staff members were trained at their service provider’s other CCTV control centre in Century City before going on duty.
67 cameras lead to several arrests
Since the installation of 67 cameras, targeting hotspots in the Bellville and Parow CBD areas at the security operations centre of the Voortrekker Road Corridor Improvement District, there have been several arrests. The VRCID continuously strives to deliver on its mandate of providing services to the police and City of Cape Town.
